11 June 1998: Japan“s Nippon Electric Glass, a major producer of cathode-ray tubes (CRTs) has announced consolidated figures for the year to 31 March 1998, together with its forecast for the current financial year. Group sales to the end of March 1998 totalled 337.417 billion yen for a net profit of 8.835 billion yen. Sales and net profit for the April 1996-March 1997 period were 315.137 billion yen and13.16 billion yen respectively. Estimates for the current year, to 31 March 1999, are sales amounting to 340 billion yen and a net profit of around 14 billion yen. The parent company reported sales for the financial year to March 1998 of 228.604 billion yen and a net profit of 6.673 billion yen (compared to 237.731 yen and 7.658 billion yen previously). For the current year, the parent company forecast is for 224 billion yen in sales and 4.5 billion yen in net profit.
