14 May 1998: US-based Avery Dennison Corp. has acquired the pressure sensitive materials assets of Recsa, a unit of Carvajal, one of the largest corporations in Columbia. Avery Dennison will be able to manufacture its Fasson-brand paper and film materials locally and to distribute pressure sensitive adhesive products throughout the Andean region. The business will operate as part of the company“s Latin America Group, selling into consumer products packaging and other industrial applications. Latin America is seen as a key growth area by Avery Dennison.
