16 April 1998: After the Czech glassworks Glavunion reported a record consolidated turnover in 1997, the general director of the company said its sales exceeded Kcs 7.9 billion and were the highest in the entire history of the company. Nearly 40% of last year“s output of automobile glass was reportedly sold to Skoda Auto, while international automotive companies were also said to be large clients, primarily General Motors, Opel and Volkswagen. About three quarters of Glavunion“s total output is sold abroad. With the support of its 100% shareholder, Belgian Glaverbel, Glavunion obtained a network of the largest clients. The management of the company said it believes that total sales this year will further increase, and are expected to exceed Kcs 8 billion.
