Vitro Architectural Glass named Boone director of OEM segment

Industry veteran offers nearly 40 years of experience in residential glass and other specialty markets

Vitro Architectural Glass (formerly PPG Glass) announced that Bradley P. Boone has been appointed director of OEM (original equipment manufacturers) segment, for residential glass and specialty glass markets.

A 39-year company veteran, Boone has spent his entire career in the glass business, primarily in glass manufacturing and in the technical support, sales and marketing of glass products. For the past seven years, he has served as market manager for Vitro Glass’s residential glass segment, where he was responsible for product and marketplace development, and marketing of the company’s proprietary Intercept® insulating spacer technology. He will continue to manage and support this proprietary technology in his new role.

Ricardo Maiz, president of Vitro Architectural Glass, said Boone will lead an independent sales force focused on meeting the needs of OEM customers, including residential window and door, appliance, furniture, mirrors and other applications. “Many of our OEM customers have glass requirements that are unique to their company and to their industry,” Maiz explained. “Brad’s vast experience with these applications, together with his knowledge of glass engineering, production and processing, will enable him to effectively deliver better service and solutions to our customers.”

During his career, Boone spent more than 10 years in float- and fabricated-glass manufacturing and has provided technical and customer support for well-known Vitro Glass brands such as Solarban® and Sungate® low-emissivity (low-e) glasses. He also was manager of Intercept spacer technology for five years.

A resident of Pittsburgh, Boone holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering (digital electronics) and a Master’s degree in marketing and industrial management (MBA) from West Virginia University.
