As the European Union is preparing the review of the Packaging & Packaging Waste Directive and is considering the introduction of recycled content targets for specific packaging formats, FEVE (European Container Glass Federation) and FERVER (European Federation of Glass Recyclers) outline their joint position on Recycled Content and their proposed way forward to increase the uptake of recycled glass.
Technically, glass bottles can be produced with up to 100 percent recycled glass and be endlessly and easily recycled into new glass packaging applications without any degradation of its quality.
