In 2021, SGD Pharma made great progress with the transformation and modernization of its Sucy-en-Brie site, near Paris, updating the historic glass manufacturing facilities to create a safer and more inclusive working environment for employees. For this initiative, the company invested a total of EUR 31 million in a complete rebuild and upgrade of furnaces and warehouse modification.
Some highlights of the project so far have been the redesign of walkways, installation of the most advanced technologies for automatic inspection, and the sustainable renovation of furnaces to reduce CO2 emissions. All of which will allow SGD Pharma to better service global pharmaceutical customers. The company celebrated the investment in Sucy with a furnace lighting ceremony in 2021 and look forward to the reconstruction of the other furnace in the plant over the coming years.
In 2022, the United Nations International Year of Glass, IYOG2022, SGD Pharma will continue to invest in improvements at all five of its productive sites, especially in the personal development of workers who live at the heart of Sucy’s success.
