OMV VISMARA
INNOVATIVE VERTICAL MILLING MACHINE
process round-shaped glass, as well as
mirrors of thicknesses up to 4 mm).
The machine can be installed in-line
with other machines such as (grinders
and washing machines) and can also
be equipped with automatic loading
and unloading devices.
The idea of this innovative machine
came about, above all, from the fre-
quent client requests for a machine able
to process large-sized glass with a ma-
chine that occupies a small floor-space.
In the more advanced version of the
machine, the zero point of the item
to be process is carried out automati-
cally by means of a sensor on the drill
head. Once identified the zero point,
it enables to read labels with barcodes
and QR codes.
At Vitrum 2017, OMV Vismara, well-
known specialized company for the
production of drills and mills for flat
glass, focussed on the debut of its new
vertical drill-mill, which differs consi-
dereably from the classic machines of
this type on the market right now both
from OMV Vismara and from other
machinery manufacturers.
VERTI 4.0 is, in fact, a completely in-
novative patented system, which ena-
bles easy processing using a machine
with smaller dimensions, but process-
ing the same sized glass.
This important characteristic is made
possible thanks to the fact that it is
no longer the glass that moves during
milling, but the portal – which moves
and processes the entire perimeter
of the glass. This enables to process
large-sized glass sheets (i.e. 5,000 x
1,600mm) on a machine that is just
over 6 metres long.
VERTI 4.0 is indicated particularly for
the processing of glass doors, shower
enclosures and balustrades, and can
