A closer look at Ardagh Glass Packaging-Europe‘s (AGP-Europe, an operating business of Ardagh Group) NextGen Furnace in Obernkirchen, Germany, which is now producing low-carbon glass bottles every day for its customers.
The furnace began producing commercial amber glass beer bottles in October 2023. As Ardagh has increased electrical heating, carbon emissions have reduced. Now bottles produced from the NextGen Furnace have over 60 percent lower carbon emissions – a vital step on the journey towards decarbonisation.
