Responding to allegations of anti-competitive practices by some Amcor executives, Chris Roberts, the chairman of the Australian packaging firm, has taken on the role of executive chairman following an emergency board meeting on 6 December 2004 which resolved to remove managing director Russell Jones. Mr Roberts has long experience in corporate Australia, having had full-time executive roles and board positions in a range of industries including biscuits, wine, telecommunications, agriculture and packaging. It is alleged that certain Amcor employees entered into arrangements that constituted cartel behaviour in the corrugated box business.
