Ardagh Glass Packaging-Poland wins first place in Global KAIZEN Award

The prestigious Global KAIZEN Award competition declared Ardagh Glass Packaging (AGP)-Poland as the overall winner in the 2023 international edition of the Award. The announcement was made at a gala held in Lisbon, Portugal, on Tuesday November 21.

This achievement follows AGP-Poland’s earlier triumph in securing the top prize in the national leg of the competition in February this year, earning them a nomination for the esteemed Global KAIZEN Award. The company has now proven its prowess not only as the best in KAIZEN methodology within Poland, but also on a global scale.

Representing AGP-Poland at the awards ceremony were Patryk Grzempa, Wyszków Plant Director, and Mariusz Petrow, Regional Continuous Improvement and BSafe! Manager, who attended on behalf of the AGP team. They gave a presentation showing the transformation AGP-Poland has undergone by introducing KAIZEN methodology into virtually every area of the company’s operations and were proud to be the first Polish company to have the opportunity to present on the Global KAIZEN Award stage.

Kamil Kantecki, Operations Director of AGP-Poland, expressed his pride in the remarkable accomplishment, stating, “This achievement reaffirms our dedication to excellence and sets a standard for the industry.”

Mr. Kantecki thanked his team for their dedication, smart work and relentless pursuit of perfection.

The Global KAIZEN Award recognises AGP-Poland for its unwavering commitment to continuous improvement, showcasing the company’s dedication to innovation and excellence. The entire team’s collective efforts have not only embraced change but have actively shaped it, solidifying AGP’s position as a leader in the industry.

The term “kaizen” derives from the Japanese language, with “kai” meaning “change” and “zen” meaning “better.” This philosophy centres around continuous improvement, emphasising enhancements in processes, management and production at every level.

Mr. Kantecki concluded, “The journey of improvement continues, and I am excited to see where our collective efforts will take us next.”
