Ardagh Glass replaces diesel forklift trucks with electric models

Four new electric forklift trucks have replaced diesel forklifts at the Ardagh Glass Packaging – Europe facility in Bad Munder, Germany.

For the first time in AGP – Europe’s operation, lithium iron phosphate forklifts, with a lifting capacity of five tonnes, are being used for loading the facility’s glass containers.

The highly efficient forklift trucks run on a fast-charging battery and require very little maintenance, resulting in reduced loading times as well as reduced carbon emissions.

Frank Lübbering, Plant Director at the AGP – Europe facility at Bad Münder said, “All the forklifts are equipped with the latest technology: the batteries don’t need to be changed; they can be re-charged quickly, which is safer and more convenient for our drivers. Plus, there are zero carbon emissions, which helps us to achieve our sustainability targets.”
