Ardagh’s glass facility in GostyĆ, Poland, reduced water consumption by 15 percent between 2017 and 2018. The team implemented a number of measures to achieve this reduction including:
- The installation of a logout â tag-out system with reserve valves for cooling water at the glass forming machines in emergency situations when there is greater demand.
- Replacement of the installation for social and closed loop water as the previous system was damaged resulting in water loss.
- The water filtration system in the water treatment facility now has mechanical filters that do not require rinsing.
- The installation of new ionsodium exchangers for water softening has resulted in a decrease in the demand for water.
