Japanese glass maker Asahi glass has reduced its 31 March 2001 group net profit forecast to JPY 22 billion from the previous forecast of JPY 29 billion. This is still higher than the actual net profit of JPY 13.16 billion reported in 2000. The sales forecast remains unchanged at JPY 1.33 trillion versus actual sales in 2000 of JPY 1.26 trillion. The forecast of operating profit was increased to JPY 110 billion from the previous forecast of JPY 105 billion. This compares to the actual operating profit reported in 2000 of JPY 60.69 billion.
