AGC Automotive, the automotive glass division of Tokyo-based Asahi Glass (AGC), said on 29 June 2009 that it had signed a long-term agreement for the development and supply of automotive glazing with Daimler. According to the multi-year contract signed on 30 April, AGC will supply side and rear windows for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and SUVs manufactured both in Europe and the US. AGC, the world“s largest glass manufacturer, is one of the first strategic suppliers to be nominated under Daimler“s new purchasing policy and this agreement extends an existing partnership between the two companies.
