AGC is to establish a new company and build a manufacturing facility for laminated automotive glass in Mexico, scheduled to start operations at the beginning of 2016.
With an investment of approximately USD 60 million, AGC (Asahi Glass) will establish a new company and build a manufacturing facility for laminated automotive glass in Mexico. The plant is scheduled to start operations at the beginning of 2016.
Steady growth of Mexico’s automobile production industry is expected to continue, and the production volume is forecast to reach four million units by the late 2010s.
AGC’s new subsidiary in Mexico will serve as its third manufacturing base in North America after the Bellefontaine and Elizabethtown plants run by AGC Automotive Americas Co.
