There will be a professional development course held on 22 November, prior to the conference. The topic will be on the use of fused cast refractories for various types of glass and furnaces. The day will be hosted by two experts from the ATIV Board of Directors, with the presentation and support of two of the most well known companies producing refractories.
For the first time since the creation of Associazione dei Tecnici Italiani del Vetro (Association of Italian Glass Technologists), this year ATIV has set up an award for the best research presentation by a young technologist or researcher under 35. The association is accepting topics that lie outside the main focus of the conference. It will also be offering particular fee reductions when more than two participants from the same company are registered.
