Bangkok Glass and Pavisa place repeat orders for IRIS inspection equipment

IRIS Inspection Machines has announced the positive start to the year with repeat business from leading glass container producers in Mexico and Thailand. In Mexico, Grupo Pavisa has decided to purchase three more IRIS inspection machines, while in Thailand, Bangkok Glass Industry is ordering 16 additional Evolution 16 and Evolution 5 machines.

Inspection solutions specialist, IRIS Inspection Machines has started 2013 on a positive note, generating repeat business from leading glass container producers in Mexico and Thailand.
Grupo Pavisa first contacted IRIS in 2011, acquiring three Evolution machines for its Mexico City glass packaging operation. An Evolution 16 machine was installed to conduct sidewall and stress inspection, with two Evolution 5 machines performing finish, base, base stress and mould number reading.
After a year working with the Evolution machines and proving their reliability and performance, Pavisa has decided to purchase three more IRIS inspection machines – Evolution 12 (sidewall inspection), Evolution 16 (sidewall inspection and stress) and Evolution 5 (base, finish, stress and mould number reading).
Much of Pavisa’a glass container output is geared to the needs of premium brands, especially in the cosmetics and liquor sectors. Many customers have small run requirements for high quality packaging, a business in which Grupo Pavisa specializes.
In Thailand, Bangkok Glass Industry (BGI) already operates 64 IRIS machines, including installations at its Ayutthaya production complex, first commissioned in 2010. Now, BGI has decided to go to IRIS again for its on-line inspection solution for the Furnace 3 and Furnace 4 projects at Ayutthaya, ordering 16 additional Evolution 16 and Evolution 5 machines.
Ayutthaya is one of five factories operated by BGI, which has emerged as one of South East Asia’s most technically advanced glass container manufacturers in recent decades.
A subsidiary of the Wisetec Group, IRIS Inspection Machines was established to provide turnkey inspection solutions for mass-produced glass containers of any shape or colour, including wine, beer, liquor and Champagne bottles, pharmaceuticals and food containers. A team of dedicated Research and Development engineers has evolved a range of equipment to match the industry’s demanding requirements and satisfy the inspection needs of key international customers.
The company has based its development on a long-term partnership with glassmakers in the field of glass defects detection, as well as on know-how in the most innovative vision technologies.
Thanks to a network of international agents and technical support service centres, IRIS is able to support customers throughout Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa and Australia.
