UK glass manufacturer Beatson Clark has announced the appointment of Paul Caveney as Compliance Manager responsible for ensuring compliance and further development of the company’s quality, hygiene and GMP (good manufacturing practice) systems.
A quality assurance professional with 23 years’ experience has been recruited to the team at leading UK glass manufacturer Beatson Clark.
Paul Caveney (41) has joined the company as Compliance Manager responsible for ensuring compliance and further development of Beatson Clark’s quality, hygiene and GMP (good manufacturing practice) systems.
Paul, who grew up in nearby Sheffield, began his career in the city and was Quality Systems Manager at B Braun Medical from 2007 to 2010.
For the past three years he has worked as a specialist quality systems consultant for Sheffield-based Uniplex (UK) Ltd., a manufacturer of surgical instruments and medical devices.
Paul’s role at Beatson Clark will involve internal audits and fostering a close working relationship with the company’s production and inspection departments. He will also administer the company’s complaints database.
“I’ve been a freelance consultant for the last three years but I was keen to get back into full-time employment with a large manufacturer,” said Paul. “I saw this as an opportunity and a new challenge; whilst my background is in medical equipment, there is a lot of crossover between the two industries and many of the practices and policies are similar.
“My first impressions of Beatson Clark are very good and I’m looking forward to developing both myself and the quality systems that are already in place here.”
Eddie Pickering, Beatson Clark’s Quality Director, added: “We’re very pleased to welcome Paul and we are confident that he will make a valuable contribution to the business as we continue to grow.”
