An invention in flat glass grinding technology from Benteler Maschinenbau and its Managing Director and co-inventor Martin Schnitker, has been granted a patent.
Benteler Maschinenbau has been granted a patent for an invention in flat glass grinding technology.
A combination of ‘dry grinding’ and a breakthrough in service and maintainability resulted in the new ‘Generation 2’ machine concept.
Martin Schnitker, Managing Director of Benteler Maschinenbau and co-inventor of the machine hopes that “with this technology we can continue to replace further conventional grinding equipment … Glass is getting thinner, processing needs to be more efficient and the product quality requirements are increasing.”
This grinding technology machine hopes to offer advantages such as: Tool change and tool calibration in five minutes (due to hydraulic clamping and automatic laser calibration); automatic tool sharpening; glass fixing without touching the top glass surface, and processing of even ultrathin glass at high speed.
