Austrian glass processing and packaging machinery manufacturer Binder+Co AG has set up a joint venture with local machine builder Statec, Binder+Co said on 3 November 2008. Binder+Co“s executive Karl Grabner expects the company“s packaging business to expand as a result of the deal. The joint venture should become an international company specialised in packaging technology. The project was announced on 16 October 2008. Binder+Co integrated its packaging business into the new Statec Binder GmbH and in return received 50.7% of the stock. The remainder belongs to Statec“s owners.
