British Glass has announced that Dave Dalton will become the CEO of the British Glass Manufacturers“ Confederation, James Chisholm CFO and John Stockdale will be promoted to the position of environmental director. These moves are seen as critical in response to meeting the diverse and challenging needs of the glass industry in these globally difficult economic times. Following a reassessment of the needs of the industry, the Council and former director general David Workman mutually agreed a way forward for the Confederation. As a result David Workman left British Glass at the end of February. British Glass president, Stephen Pollock-Hill said, The modern manufacturing trade association needs a comprehensive understanding of issues and the restructuring of British Glass will enable the organization to service the future needs of the glass supply sector at national and international level. Speaking about the appointment Dalton said I“m delighted to be given the opportunity to build new links with industry and key stakeholders as we look to refocus our efforts where they matter most, in delivering unrivalled quality of service, excellent representation and tangible benefits right across the glass community. The glass industry faces many issues and I“m confident that we can meet those challenges with the professional team of people that we have here.
