Camden Glass, the glass processing division of Camden Group, is proud to announce that it has passed EN1279 Part 3, which relates to the gas leakage rate of sealed units. Camden is the only company in Ireland to have passed this particularly difficult standard and joins an elite number of companies throughout the UK to have achieved it. According to Deborah Campbell, quality manager at Camden Glass, achieving this particular standard is important for the company: We“ve worked closely with Edgetech“s technical team and invested significant time and resources to achieve this standard so our customers can continue to enjoy the highest specification units available. Camden is the only company in Ireland with the Part 3 element pass on BSEN 1279 so we can prove our products are better than others on the market. Camden Glass is also making substantial investments in modern machinery for its state-of-the-art glass processing production facilities, which include: a state-of-the-art heat soaking machine, which enables the company to offer a wide range of high quality heat soaked tempered glass to meet client specifications; two new IGU lines for high quality, energy efficient glass units for both domestic and commercial end users. These lines achieve centre pane u-values as low as 0.4W/m2K and whole window u-values as low as 0.8W/m2K; a new Roller Coater paint line for Spandrel panel production, providing consistently top quality results with much faster drying times; a new CAD/CAM system enabling brilliant cutting and superb quality polishing on a variety of glass thicknesses in an almost limitless variety of shapes; a new cutting system, providing greater cutting capacity on glass thicknesses; a state-of-the-art laminated glass cutting table. The machines are a considerable investment, but I am confident the outlay will have a positive impact in growing and developing the business. We have already attracted several new customers, says Kieran Lavery, managing director of Camden Glass.
