CMOG: Rakow Research Library celebrates Memorial Day

Drunig the upcoming GlassFest event, the Rakow Research Library of the Corning Museum of Glass (CMOG) is inviting participants to take part in video-recorded interviews to capture places that have vanished and activities that exist only in memory.

The Rakow Research Library of the Corning Museum of Glass (CMOG) is inviting participants at the Corning, NY, GlassFest event, taking place 25-27 May, are invited to make an appointment to share memories of their experiences (or those of their ancestors) with glassmaking in the Crystal City. Video-recorded interviews offer a way to preserve our heritage and help future generations understand what it was like living and working in Corning, NY. The oral histories collected will capture places that have vanished and activities that exist only in memory.
The interviews will last about an hour, and will be recorded on camera in the Boardroom at the Radisson Hotel Corning. Participants will receive a copy of their interview to show family and friends. The original will be preserved in the Library for use by students, historians, and researchers.
