The Coca-Cola Company has prepared the ground for its acquisition of Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd“s (CCA) Philippine bottling assets by taking a US$ 566 million charge in its fourth-quarter accounts. The charge came more than 12 months after CCA wrote down the carrying value of its investment in the Philippines by US$ 1.25 billion to reflect the downturn in the performance of the business and the Philippines economy.
