Renowned high-performance glassmaker Corning Inc. announced the signing of a letter of intent for the formation of a strategic alliance with the Republic of China Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). Both signatories expressed hope that the alliance will further advance cooperation between Corning and the ROC, and that the two sides will work together to develop new markets in the Asia-Pacific region and throughout the world, Corning Inc. said in a press release. Upon the signing of the letter of intent, which took place in New York City, Corning became the 38th American company to sign such an agreement with the MOEA, and the 68th multinational worldwide to become a strategic alliance partner with the ROC.
