IoT has been described as the network of physical objects—devices, vehicles, buildings and other items—embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity that enables these objects to collect and exchange data.
Industry 4.0 has been described as the fourth industrial revolution, a collective term embracing a number of contemporary automation, data exchange, and manufacturing technologies.  It had been defined as ‘a collective term for technologies and concepts of value chain organization’ which draws together Cyber-Physical Systems, the Internet of Things, and the Internet of Services.
The focus of Joe’s discussion will revolve around the value that IoT / Industry 4.0 can provide to manufacturing companies in both the short and long term. Joe will also discuss how IoT /Industry 4.0 has become a hot topic, the challenges facing existing facilities in moving towards Industry 4.0, and the potential pitfalls of a poorly-planned migration to the future.
