22 July 1999: Organizers of Vitrum, the two-yearly trade fair in Milan, Italy, for machinery and equipment for flat, bent and hollow glass manufacturing, say that almost all exhibition space has already been booked. The trade fair will take place from 3 to 6 November 1999 at the Milan Fairground. A press release from the organizing committee said that the three pavilions of the new Portello area of the fairground assigned to the exhibition are already full and that, by 1 July, 300 exhibitors had signed up for 21,000 sq. m. out of the total 22,000 sq. m. exhibition space. The organizers added that although the Italian glass industry has undergone a slight decline in the first half of 1999, there are indications that the situation will improve in the second half of the year.
