Many countries agree that if the infection spreads again, a further lockdown is not economically viable. For this reason, working and living spaces have been reorganised to minimise the risk of infection. Partition walls have become one of the most common furnishings we find in offices, restaurants, shops, supermarkets and public places.
During this pandemic, many factories have switched production to the manufacture of medical equipment such as respirators and face masks and the like. Many glass processors have also adapted their production and specialised in the manufacture of glass partitions.
The Italian company Centre Glass di Riato, based in Veneto, an Italian region that has reacted better than others to the pandemic, can testify to the increasing interest in glass partitions. “There is a growing demand for partition walls both from local administrations and private companies,” said the owner Walter Riato. In addition, glass is more resistant to scratches than plastic and does not yellow. Transparent glass allows natural light to be filtered and keeps the same amount of light in the room.
