President Lloyd Talbert to assume leadership in September
Don Friese, chairman and CEO of C.R. Laurence, will retire at the end of September, after 58 years with the company. His successor, Lloyd Talbert, has been with the company for over 25 years and will maintain his role as president along with assuming CRL’s leadership.
“Don’s leadership and contribution over almost six decades has been instrumental in expanding the business from a small company to a global manufacturer and supplier of architectural glazing systems for commercial and residential applications,” said Talbert. “Over the years, Don consistently focused on growing the company, expanding its reach and improving its products and services, while building a strong team and surrounding himself with exceptional talent.”
Friese joined CRL as its sixth employee in 1961 and by 1997 he had become CEO and owner of the company. Today, CRL makes or distributes more than 65,000 products for the architectural, construction and automotive industries. Talbert joined CRL in 1991 as vice president of finance and CFO and is an experienced industry and business leader, most recently in his role as president and COO of the company.
