Crystal specialists Dartington Crystal have served up a new selection of specially commissioned glassware for customers flying in British Airways’ First cabin.
The range includes a tumbler, brandy glass, wine glass, champagne flute and a deep crimson red water glass, to provide a burst of colour in the stylish understated cabin. Troy Warfield, British Airways’ director of customer experience, said “Dartington Crystal was the clear favourite to provide us with the best quality and most durable glass for our customers flying in First. “As a premium producer of crystal we’re thrilled to have Dartington Crystal on board, giving our First customers the best of British glasses to drink from, no matter where they fly in the world.” Neil Hughes, Dartington Crystal’s managing director, said: “We are proud to be associated with this most prestigious part of our national airline. As the last surviving British name for glassware we are delighted that British Airways has chosen to reflect their high standards with our products.” The new glassware from the Devon-based company will appear on flights throughout the year and enable customers in First to enjoy a wide selection of fine wines, spirits, soft drinks and prestigious champagnes, including Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle. Dartington Crystal is best known for its premium crystal. Each of the company’s glasses featured in First is individually stamped with both the British Airways speed marque and the Dartington name. Originally called Dartington Glass, the company started in 1967, in Torrington, Devon, as a manufacturer of quality glassware. Nearly 50 years later, Dartington Crystal has developed and evolved to offer a diverse range of crystal and glassware. Today Dartington Crystal is sold around the world and is a leading exponent of British design.
