Several years after the release of the OPT prototype, Deltamax has developed an innovative solution for quality control on unwashed glass. This system enables the early detection of structural defects during the initial stages of the glass transformation process, offering significant benefits, particularly through the re-optimization of the cutting plan, which helps reduce the amount of glass waste.
Recently, Deltamax announced a further advancement in this field, made possible through its collaboration with the Italian start-up AI4IV. The OPT system software has been updated to incorporate artificial intelligence models. The introduction of custom-built neural networks aims to improve the precision and reliability of defect detection and classification. These models, trained on real images captured by scanners installed at customer facilities, can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems through a simple software update.
The implementation of artificial intelligence in the OPT system is just the first step toward adopting these advanced technologies in other solutions developed by Deltamax. The company’s goal is to provide increasingly precise and efficient tools for quality control in the glass industry.
