Japan“s Dow Corning Toray Silicone, a Dow Corning joint venture which produces silicones for the chemical, electronics, automotive, construction and other industries, is to acquire the silicone division of Nippon Unicar on 30 September 2004, subject to approval by the Japan Fair Trade Commission. Annual sales by the silicone division of Nippon Unicar are estimated at JPY 8.5 billion (USD 80 million).
