According to a recent report, The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will buy 40% of shares in the Pokrovskoye glass factory, a major beer bottle producer in the Vologda Region in Russia. The factory plans to use between US$ 8-10 million raised from the deal to increase the output of “a scarce product” – black glass beer bottles – by 150%, the report said. Breweries reportedly prefer black bottles to green ones – which are going out of fashion – for their products, the report said.
