Detailed in the new 2019 SYSTEMGLAS® Specifiers Guide, available to download at www.promat-glass.co.uk, the new options supplement an already expansive product range of integrity and insulation (EI) fire-resistant glazing screens offering protection of between 30 and 120 minutes. The range’s four systems provide framing options in steel, timber and two which utilise the fire-resistant calcium silicate PROMATECT® H to allow for over-cladding, painting or concealment for a virtually ‘frameless’ effect.
With increased demand for SYSTEMGLAS® following significant investment in new systems and testing over the last few years, underpinned by the Specified for a Reason® campaign, Promat UK’s ongoing investment in R&D has added new scope to specify assured passive fire protection in more technically intricate applications, and where a higher level of performance is required. This includes offering barrier loadings for atria, EI90 and EI120 fire ratings for the steel-framed SYSTEMGLAS® Ferro, new corner options to achieve different aesthetic goals and deflection head solutions. Further developments are also in the pipeline for 2020.
All four systems within SYSTEMGLAS® provide a 360o Wheel of Assurance, which has been well received by designers, architects and contractors given the significance of complete supply chain traceability, testing integrity and client peace of mind. With every SYSTEMGLAS® project, Promat UK has full oversight of the product manufacture – including the origin of raw materials, the processing, cutting and assembly, and installation. Finished installations are also inspected by Promat UK’s fire protection specialists and issued with a certificate of conformity.
Ian Cowley, Regional Director (UK and Scandinavia) at Promat said, “Our latest additions to the SYSTEMGLAS® range give specifiers and contractors even greater scope to ensure their glazing installations will offer dependable fire safety. Our R&D programme is continuously developing SYSTEMGLAS® by looking at innovative ways to provide EI fire protection on different designs, sizes and applications of butt-jointed glazing, all allowing for design ambitions and aesthetics to be fully realised without compromise.”
