Visitors to the recent edition of Vitrum could see two important companies of the glass sector collaborating with their products. Fenzi and Bystronic glass had on show a TPS® operating with Butylver TPS, a thermoplastic spacer developed by Fenzi laboratories.
The stand shared by Fenzi and Bystronic glass at the 18th edition of Vitrum was a big catalyst. The highlights of the stand were two products that work in perfect harmony: a TPS® was positioned in the centre operating with Butylver TPS, a thermoplastic spacer developed by Fenzi laboratories to adapt in a more specific way to this kind of technology.
Visitors at Vitrum were able to see a live demonstration of the spacer application process: a highly automated, fast process that involves applying Butylver TPS from the machine directly onto the glass without any need for spacer cutting and bending.
The performance of the Fenzi spacer using TPS technology was very clear and the machine-product synchrony was welcomed by customers of both companies because of its benefits in terms of automation, especially with triple warm edge glass.
Manufactured in Italy and distributed worldwide through the Glass Alliance network, Butylver TPS is competitive compared to other thermoplastic spacers because it adheres immediately after being applied on both sides of the glass. Performance features in terms of workability, with very flexible shapes and sizes, thermal performance and long life mean that there is a growing demand for Butylver TPS in the market of warm edge systems.
“This is only the first step in a working partnership that we hope will be a long and lasting one,” confirmed Alessandro Fenzi, CEO at the Fenzi Group. “We will definitely continue to work on doing similar things next year as well.”
