France“s Saint Gobain Isover and Chile“s Compania Industrial El Volcan have completed a deal for the acquisition of 55% and 45% respectively of Fiberglass Colombia. The Colombian firm produces insulating products for the country“s building sector and also exports extensively to the USA, Russia, the UK, Central America, the Caribbean, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay. Fiberglass Colombia posted sales of COP 44.313 billion in 2006; it also controls 100% of Venezuelan firm Fivenglass. El Volcan is paying USD 9.7 million for its 45% stake in Fiberglass.
