The global flat glass market is expected to reach $124.14 billion by 2022, according to a new study by Grand View Research Inc.
The increase will be driven by rising awareness of the benefits of using glass in building and construction including safety, security and energy savings. The report also suggests that improved product innovations, including solar glass and low-emissivity glasses, are expected to further accelerate flat glass demand.
Tempered, laminated and insulating glasses are also expected to gain popularity over the next seven years on account of increasing applications in construction and automotive industries, according to the report. Increasing dependence on renewable energy sources and the introduction of subsidies for energy storage is expected to boost the solar energy market.
