Şişecam’s flat glass products were preferred in the Flora Panorama project in Burgas, Bulgaria. Şişecam Solar Control Low-E Glass products were used in the housing complex designed to blend in with their natural and urban surroundings.
The Flora Panorama project, designed by Sharenkov Architects, is one of many projects brought to life with innovative products from Şişecam Flat Glass. Şişecam Solar Control Low-E Glass offers high light transmittance, heat insulation and solar control, all provided by a single coating as requested by the project.
Sharenkov Architects aimed to create a building integrated into the environment, both part of nature and part of the city, while keeping a memorable appearance. The architecture of the building resembles sea waves diverging in space. Composed of soft curved shapes of glass and concrete, the building volume offers gradual expansions of the floors in the upper parts of the façade. This volumetric play is made possible by complex oval shapes, large concrete consoles up to 3 metres and elements such as curved glass railings.
The building has a photovoltaic system installed on the roof, providing electricity for the common parts. The structure is detailed for energy efficiency with an effective natural insulating system that includes bricks with enhanced insulating properties, window profiles and glazing units with Şişecam Solar Control Low-E Glass.
