French wood products group Lapeyre is to sell the window manufacturing activities of subsidiary Les Zelles, based at La Bresse, in the Vosges department. Atlantique Menuiserie Fermeture (AMF) will take over around 75% of the company“s business under the name of Menuisier Conseil. AMF is a subsidiary of Cougnaud, itself a joinery subsidiary of Lapeyre. Lapeyre will then acquire the entire share capital of AMF, whose business will account for only 10% of the total activity of the group, which generates turnover of EUR 75 million. The restructuring is not expected to affect the jobs of the group“s 400-strong workforce. A works council meeting was scheduled for 24 May 2007 to discuss potential takeover candidates, which include Arbel and Oxxo.
