Functional Glasses: Properties and Applications for Energy and Information

Functional Glasses: Properties and Applications for Energy and Information will be discussed in detail at the ECI Conference to take place 6-11 January 2013 in Siracusa, Sicily, Italy. A panel discussion, led by the leaders of major glass companies is planned at the end of the conference, which will focus on the future directions of glass for energy and information applications.

An Interactive ECI Conference entitled Functional Glasses: Properties and Applications for Energy and Information will take place 6-11 January 2013 in Siracusa, Sicily, Italy.
Conference Chair is Himanshu Jain T.L. Diamond Distinguished Chair in Engineering and Applied Science and Professor of Materials Science and Engineering Director, NSF’s International Materials Institute for New Functionality in Glass, Lehigh University, US. Conference co-chairs: Carlo G. Pantano Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering Director, Materials Research Institute Co-Director, NSF’s International Materials Institute for New Functionality in Glass, The Pennsylvania State University, US; Klaus Bange (recently retired) Schott Glass, Germany; David L. Morse Executive Vice President and CTO Corning Incorporated, US; and Setsuro Ito. Materials and Structures Laboratory Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan (Former Senior Fellow at Asahi Glass).
The Technical Program Overview will include Keynote Talks of 45 minutes plus a discussion of each talk of about 30 minutes.
A panel discussion, led by the leaders of major glass companies is planned at the end of the conference. Based on the information presented during the week, it will focus on the future directions of glass for energy and information applications.
