Uwe Rhrhoff is, as of 22 June 2010, the new chief executive officer of Gerresheimer AG. Rhrhoff has been a member of the Management Board since 2003, and was appointed to his new position by Gerresheimer“s Supervisory Board in March. He succeeds Axel Herberg, who was CEO for ten years and will become a member of the Supervisory Board on 1 September 2010. We are delighted to have found in Uwe Rhrhoff the ideal CEO for Gerresheimer AG, says Supervisory Board Chairman Gerhard Schulze: Mr. Rhrhoff stands for continuity and experience and enjoys the trust of customers and employees equally. Rhrhoff has been working for Gerresheimer for 20 years and was recently responsible for the Moulded Glass Division and the Life Science Research Division. He has also played a decisive role in the expansion of Gerresheimer“s US and Chinese businesses. Rhrhoff comments: We will continue in the future to focus on the successful business in the field of pharma and healthcare. At the same time we want to push ahead with internationalization. We are very well positioned and solidly financed to achieve further profitable growth in the future. As CEO, Rhrhoff will continue to manage the Moulded Glass Division directly. On the Management Board, Max Raster takes over responsibility for the Life Science Research Division in addition to the Tubular Glass Division. Rhrhoff joined Gerresheimer in 1991 and initially worked in controlling and became CEO of the US subsidiary Gerresheimer Glass Inc. in 2001. Dr. Herberg, who served the company for 20 years, 15 of them as a member of the Management Board and 10 as CEO. is leaving Gerresheimer under his own volition after his successful work as CEO. The Supervisory Board thanks him for his outstanding achievements and successful collaboration over the past years and welcomes him as a new member of the Supervisory Board, to which he was elected by the Annual General Meeting on 29 April 2010 by a large majority of votes.
