The GGF Forum will take place in Birmingham, UK on 20 April, and will deal with the major topics of Green Deal, Strategy Review and key Technical Issues. the GGF Panel will be made up of Senior GGF Executives and Guest Speakers who will be presenting on the key issues.

The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) GGF Forum on 20 April in Birmingham, UK, promises to be the industry event of 2012. Exclusive to GGF Members, the major topics of Green Deal, Strategy Review and key Technical Issues will be discussed with particular emphasis placed on how they will affect GGF Members’ businesses.
GGF Members will be given the opportunity to speak directly to the GGF Panel made up of Senior GGF Executives and Guest Speakers who will be presenting on the key issues.
With Green Deal set to be launched in October 2012, the GGF Forum will provide a backdrop, an outline and timeline of the Government’s flagship initiative.
Following Energy Minister Greg Barker’s speech on the Green Deal at Eco Build, the GGF is pleased with some of the major changes announced that could make Green Deal more viable for its Members and the wider Glass and Glazing Industry.
In his speech, Barker announced the removal of certain obligations on Green Deal Providers that were proposed in the initial consultation. One of these obligations was that warranties will no longer be required for the length of the Green Deal contract.
Barker stated, “We have changed the warranties proposal, removing the requirement to hold warranties for the length of the plan. Use of existing schemes where appropriate will mean that consumers will receive as much protection as is available.”
Nigel Rees, GGF Chief Executive commented, “We are pleased to see the Government change their initial position on warranties for Green Deal work. This change has come around following pressure from the GGF and its members and others in the construction industry. It effectively removes a large stumbling block and now means that the standard warranties of 10 years used in the Glass and Glazing industry will fit within the Green Deal requirements. The potential impact of Green Deal is one of the most important issues at the forefront of many Members thoughts at the present time. Due to the complexities and wide ranging implications of Green Deal, we expect it to be the central discussion at the GGF Forum where Members’ views and concerns will be aired and shared with our panel of guest speakers.”
All GGF Members are most welcome to attend the GGF Forum and are encouraged to book their places. Lunch and refreshments will be provided and the GGF Marketing team has negotiated special accommodation rates for all GGF members.
