Gimav, the Italian Association of Glass Processing Machinery and Accessory Suppliers, coordinated the group participation of its members in the flat glass sector at the 10th edition of Glass South America in Brazil. The Gimav group was made up of 16 members occupying a surface area of about 1,000 sq.m., which also hosted the local sister companies of Gimav member firms.

Italian glass processing technology was on show at the recent edition of Glass South America in Brazil. Gimav, the Italian Association of Glass Processing Machinery and Accessory Suppliers, coordinated the group participation of its members in the flat glass sector at the 10th edition of the South American trade fair, which took place 16-19 May 2012 in São Paulo.
South America is undoubtedly a valuable market for exports in this sector, as confirmed by Renata Gaffo, Director of Gimav: “Brazil and South America in general show their appreciation of the high quality technologies inherent to our made in Italy products. Exports of Italian flat glass processing machinery to this area are constantly increasing. Of course, Brazil drives the entire area, but Argentina also makes a good showing, and Peru is quickly adding itself to the list”.
Therefore, participation in the show is strategic for Italian businesses. The Gimav group was made up of 16 members occupying a surface area of about 1,000 sq.m., which also hosted the local sister companies of Gimav member firms.
Italy’s glass processing machinery and accessories industry has always held a leadership position on a global level. The machines designed in Italy, known and appreciated around the world, have a competitive edge in the international marketplace, thanks to the winning combination of technological innovation, product quality, and swift technical assistance.
“The South American market is constantly developing, and prospects for the future are excellent. Thanks to their distinctive qualities, Italian-made machinery has earned the trust of industry professionals. This is the reason our hopes for the outcome of the show are more than positive,” acknowledges Renata Gaffo.
