Glafo, the Swedish Glass Research Institute – part of the SP Group – has appointed Marianne Grauers as its new managing director as of 1 June 2010. Ms. Grauers joins Glafo from the Swedish Road Administration (now the Swedish Transport Administration), where her responsibilities included construction-related research and development activities. I“m looking forward to playing a part in development of the Glass Research Institute. In addition to Glafo“s close links with the glass industry, there are exciting challenges with the use of glass as a construction material. This is an area with substantial development potential – not least bearing in mind the SP Group“s other activities in the construction field, says Grauers. Marianne Grauers is a PhD in construction technology who previously held management posts with NCC and VTI, where her work included setting up and obtaining financing for several EU projects. We“re pleased that Marianne Grauers will be joining us. With her experience from both the construction sector and the research institutes sector, she“ll play an important part in Glafo“s future development, says Jan Byfors, Glafo AB“s chairman.
