Glas Trösch: a sculpture made of glass

83 artists, 16 countries, 400 works of art: among them the sculpture “Tri Colore” by artist Kathrin Severin made of laminated safety glass with SWISSLAMEX COLORDESIGN PVB films by Glas Trösch

From 8 May to 31 October 2021, the idyllic spa town of Bad Ragaz in Sarganserland will be transformed for the eighth time into what is now one of Europe’s largest open-air sculpture exhibitions.

This year, the motto of the Swiss Triennial is “Distance sharpens the gaze”. Along streets, squares, parks and hotel complexes, various sculptures allow visitors to take a tour of several kilometres.

Directly in front of the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is the almost three-metre-high sculpture “Tri Colore” by Kathrin Severin, for which she designed ten steles made of glass in the three primary colours magenta, cyan and yellow. For this, she chose laminated safety glass with SWISSLAMEX COLORDESIGN PVB films by Glas Trösch.

In addition to façades, balcony railings or staircases, beautiful art objects can also be created and specifically accentuated with colour. Depending on the perspective and light intensity, the sculpture changes and thus inspires the viewer, true to the motto of the year, to find their own way of seeing.
