Situated on the picturesque Rhine and connected to France by the nearby Pierre-Pflimlin Bridge, the European Forum on the Rhine strengthens cross-border cooperation and Franco-German cultural exchange as a multifunctional building.
Designed by the Grossmann Group, the Forum fulfils several purposes: it houses the unique bi-national theatre BAAL, offices for members of the European Parliament from both countries and a permanent exhibition space – making it a lively place for a variety of interactions.
One of Glas Trösch‘s tried and tested glass solutions played a decisive role in the design of the building’s ecological standards: the insulating glass with SILVERSTAR EN2plus ensures optimum thermal insulation and adapts to the building’s modern energy concept. Visually the glass surfaces, which are inclined at different angles, appear both lively and futuristic.
