Fireswiss Cool is Glas Trösch’s range of premium fire resistant glasses for the UK. The glass is Certifire rated for use in timber fire doors and screens and fulfils the strict requirements of all relevant UK and European test standards.
Swiss specialist glass manufacturer Glas Trösch has announced the launch of a range of premium fire resistant glasses for the UK. Fireswiss Cool, which ensures integrity and partial insulation against radiating heat, is the first product to be introduced to the market.
Fireswiss Cool achieved 49 minutes integrity in a fire test undertaken at Exova Warrington, easily exceeding the more common performance level of 30 minutes integrity. This special glass also offers additional protection due to insulating qualities, helping prevent the increase of room temperatures and enabling access to exits in the event of fire.
Fireswiss Cool is Certifire rated for use in timber fire doors and screens and fulfils the strict requirements of all relevant UK and European test standards, with CE certification for all product variations. Large glass sizes have been tested in established timber frame systems, customized fire testing is also available at the Glas Trösch accredited in-house test laboratory.
The glass also delivers a crystal clear outlook without distortion or discoloration, as well as providing added safety benefits, achieving 3(B)3 impact resistance in 7mm, 2(B)2 in 9mm and 1(B)1 in 11mm thicknesses.
Fireswiss Cool is available through CT Glass, UK distribution partners for Glas Trösch. Cut sizes can be made to order and stock sheets (2125 x 3100mm) are available with short delivery lead times. UV protection is also achievable with optional PVB interlayers for external applications and patterned and coloured glass options are available for bespoke projects.
