Glass America: feeder competition for AGTO

The Pilkington Clear Advantage Auto Glass Technician Olympics™ (AGTO), to take place 20-22 September 2012 in Louisville, Ky, has another team of company entrants. In fact, Glass America recently held its company-wide competition, choosing three of its technicians.

Glass America is the latest in the auto glass industry to hold a company-wide feeder competition to select the technicians that will be competing for Glass America on the national level. The Pilkington Clear Advantage Auto Glass Technician Olympics™ (AGTO) will be taking place 20-22 September 2012 in Louisville, Ky.
Glass America allows every technician in the company to compete and selects a winner from six different regions to compete in the finals round, which took place in Atlanta 28 June at the “Best of the Best” competition. The company-wide competition takes months to prepare in order to include every technician in the company.
Matt Thompson of Gaithersburg, Md., was the top technician and will be competing in the AGTO. Will Richardson from Tampa, Fla., who came in second place, and Chris Reeves from Cookeville, Tenn., who came third, will also be competing.
“The ‘best of the best’ competition was inspiring. I know we all strive each day to be at the top of our game when dealing with customers and each other, but seeing the ‘best of the best’ was humbling. Their attention to detail, safety and professionalism was amazing,” said Michael Barry CEO of Glass America.
