Glass Futures is less than a month away from the official opening of its Global Centre of Excellence in St. Helens.
The event for members of Glass Futures will coincide with the Furnace Solutions conference next door and will include speeches, tours of the facility and a visit to the World of Glass Museum.
With key areas completed, work will be ongoing over the coming months including the installation of the furnace capable of producing up to 30 tonnes of glass per day. Once fired in early 2024 members, researchers and industry leaders will collaborate and experiment with different energy sources, raw materials and technologies to demonstrate solutions leading to sustainable energy usage in the glass-making process
