Glass South America, which celebrated its 11th edition this year, took place 21-24 May in São Paulo, Brazil. The event saw a record number of 13,000 qualified professional visitors, a 15% increase in the exhibition area and 21% new exhibitors.
The 11th edition of Glass South America, the most important biennial event of the glass industry in Latin America, took place 21-24 May at Transamerica Expo Center, in São Paulo. Organized by NürnbergMesse Brasil, the event received the record visitation number of 13,000 qualified professionals of the industry, including representatives of companies such as Embraer, Speed Temper, Glassec Viracon, Schott Brasil, Linde Vidros and Templados Vidro Forte.
This year, with a 15% increase in the exhibition area and 21% new exhibitors, the event reflected the favourable moment of the industry over the least few years. Over 200 brands, segmented in Glass Technology and Glass Design, showcased the latest trends in glass applications, machines, equipment and accessories.

Side by side with the exhibition area, visitors had access to parallel events that offered a complete experience in solutions and new applications of glass. The conferences received participants from several industries, including civil construction, architecture, furniture and automotive. This reflects the growth and maturity of the Brazilian market, which is increasingly gaining access to safety, protection, thermal and acoustic comfort and many other benefits offered by glass.
The third edition of Glass Performance Days (GPD) presented, over two conference days, topics such as production and processing of safety glass, quality control, new technical developments and case studies of architectural projects and design. The Solar Glass Expo showcased discussions around sustainability, bringing together leading companies to debate energy efficiency and the photovoltaic market.
The 11th edition of Glass South America also hosted the FIESP – SINBEVIDROS Series of Workshops. Specialists spoke to micro-, small- and medium-sized companies of the industry, and offered participants counselling and guidance on credit and financing.
The next edition of Glass South America will take place 8-11 June 2016.
